Mark Baines Architectural Illustration Competition
The Alexander Thomson Society is delighted to announce the biennial ‘Remembering Mark Baines’ architectural illustration competition. The late Mark Baines was a founding member and president of the society, an architect and professor of architecture at the Macintosh School of Architecture. He continually stressed the importance of drawing architecture and was never without a sketchbook.
The objective of the Architectural Illustration Contest is to create, using pencil, ink or paint, an architectural interpretation and celebration of a building of your choice. Simply a beautiful drawing or a beautiful painting.
An exhibition of applications will take place in 2023.
We are grateful to the Glasgow Institute of Architects for their sponsorship of this competition.
