Anushka Sharma welcomed their daughter Vamika with husband Virat Kohli in January last year. She shared that she was initially nervous about filming Chakda’ Xpress after having a baby.
Anushka Sharma will soon be seen on screen with Chakda’ Xpress, which is slated for release in February next year. Anushka was last seen in December 2018 in Zero, which also starred Katrina Kaif and Shah Rukh Khan. Meanwhile, Anushka also welcomed her first child with husband Virat Kohli in January 2021. She recently revealed that she felt nervous while filming Chakda’ Xpress after giving birth to daughter Vamika.
Chakda’ Xpress is a biopic about Jhulan Goswami, the former captain of the India women’s national cricket team. Anushka has shared clips and photos of herself practicing cricket, but has now revealed she wasn’t confident about her physical strength when she started working on it.
The actress recently posed for the cover of Harper’s Bazaar India and opened up about her experience filming for the first time after having a baby. She told the magazine, “I was involved in the creation of Chakda’ Xpress. I was supposed to have worked on it earlier but the movie was postponed due to the pandemic and then I got pregnant. When I finally started working on it, I was nervous because I had just had a baby so I wasn’t as strong as before. And I hadn’t trained in 18 months, so I wasn’t in the best physical condition – earlier I would have pushed myself to do different indoor exercises.
Anushka added, “But even though I wasn’t sure whether or not to take on the project, an inner voice was telling me to do it. And that’s the kind of work I want to be involved in. I will always be open to doing interesting, content-driven projects. The actress, who recently left production at her production house Clean Slate Filmz, which she set up with her brother Karnesh Sharma to focus on acting, also said she doesn’t believe in the culture of restlessness. She said: “I’m all for living with a more holistic approach – you love your job, you love your life. That’s what you’re supposed to do.
Chakda’ Xpress, directed by Prosit Roy and backed by Clean Slate Filmz, will be released on Netflix on February 2, 2023. Anushka previously said the film would be an “eye opener to the world of women’s cricket”.
