Inspired by his upcoming trip across the country to visit Bitcoin dating and spread awareness about Bitcoin, Captain Sidd planned a massive “Mega Meetup” at Bitcoin 2023 in Miami, Florida.
The event was for people who attend local Bitcoin meetups to talk about how to grow and spread the Bitcoin philosophy. Every bitcoiner was invited, meetup organizers and regular attendees to any local bitcoin meetup around the world.

The event was an opportunity to learn more about Bitcoin Dating and meet other Bitcoiners from the United States and around the world. Of the 992 people registered for the free event, there were participants from all over the world, including India, Canada, Russia, Argentina, Austria, Venezuela, Colombia, Congo, India. Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Australia, New Zealand and Puerto Rico. There were also participants from at least 14 US states.
Justin Ragland, known as “The connectoris one of the organizers of the Rocket City Bitcoin Dating. He explained why he attends Bitcoin events in person: “I love the people; I love bitcoin and people. I’m a community guy. I love trying to empower and educate my community.
Not all encounters are the same. The connector shared his reason for traveling to meetups in other cities, “It seems like when I go to different meetups, each meetup is unique and has a different perspective on Bitcoin.”
Ragland isn’t the only one who wants to travel to attend Bitcoin events. People often go to some of the biggest meetups in Bitcoin-friendly cities. Liz Parriswho co-leads the bitcoin charlotte dating group, shared, “As I became more involved in the bitcoin community, I realized that there was so much more than bitcoin that brought us together. There are shared values, interests similar, and we generally see the world in the same way. It’s like we’re all one family!
Parrish described his reasons for planning Bitcoin events. “One of my passions is connecting people. I love bringing people together around a common interest. I also want to spread as much information about Bitcoin as possible, especially in a banking city.
Bitcoin meetups are a fantastic way to get to know other local Bitcoiners. They provide an opportunity to learn more about and discuss Bitcoin, which can be difficult to achieve through articles, podcasts, or social media. Everyone should look to attend a local meet.
