In the episode, Smithers falls in love with Graaf, a famous fashion designer character voiced by Victor Garber (Argo, Revenge of a Blonde).

The fictional couple have since been celebrated in the March/April issue of Attitudewith a cover inspired by the Disney classic The Lady and the Tramp.

The issue also features a “world’s first interview” with Smithers about “life as a gay man in a small town.”

When asked when he first realized he was gay, Smithers replied: “Well, I remember watching A tram called Désir and being incredibly attracted to the on-screen hunk who had such powerful and raw sexual energy – Karl Malden, who plays Stanley’s friend. Since then, I have a poster of him in my room.

Speaking about last year’s episode, co-writer Johnny LaZebnik, who inspired Smithers’ original coming-out episode, said: punch.

“And what I think I was really excited about, with this episode, we get to see – without spoiling too much – the beginning, middle and who knows how it ends of a gay relationship, really getting into the thick of it about how gay dates, how they meet, what it’s like.

A fan of The simpsons recently created a point-and-click adventure game based on the Steamed Hams scene, inspired by classic LucasArts adventure games like monkey island.
