A new cover for the latest issue of Total Film reveals an exciting, daunting and highly detailed look at Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam suit.
New Magazine Cover Reveals In-Depth, In-Depth Look at Dwayne Johnson black adam suit. After spending years in development and having its production delayed by the coronavirus pandemic, black adam will finally arrive in theaters next summer. Johnson was officially cast in the role in 2014, though he had been trying to get a film centered around the DC villain-turned-antihero shot for years. Filming took place earlier this year, overseen by director Jaume Collet-Serra. Since its end, Johnson has revealed several glimpses of black adam, including actual footage from the film.
Plot details are still being kept under wraps, even though it looks like black adam will address the character’s origins as a slave in Kahndaq thousands of years ago. As the first trailer revealed, Black Adam resurfaces in the present day, and anyone’s guess is what he’ll do once released. The film also stars Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Quintessa Swindell and Pierce Brosnan as the Justice Society of America, while Sarah Shahi would play a version of Adrianna Tomaz.
Shortly after one magazine cover offered a menacing glimpse of Black Adam, another cover shared more of Johnson’s costume. Exclusive worldwide coverage for Total movie (shared online by Johnson) features a detailed look at the Black Adam suit and his signature lightning bolt. Check it out below.
Johnson’s Black Adam suit was first seen in footage shown at the DC FanDome, though the quick trailer didn’t offer many details. The image above allows fans to zoom in on all of the small etchings and symbols that make up the costume, several of which are thought to date back to its early days in Kahndaq. Black Adam brings with him a deep mythology, as well as a lot of power. Johnson promised black adam will disrupt the DCEU hierarchy, so fans better prepare.
Since it took years for even the slightest news about black adam to emerge, this new influx of updates is welcome. Last fans heard, black adam was still in the editing process, and Johnson felt good, but not satisfied with the first cut. With over seven months to go before the movie hits theaters, there’s plenty of time to make it perfect. Now that fans have been offered better looks at Johnson’s character, hopefully a full trailer will arrive soon. Perhaps the early months of 2023 will hold a lot more teasing for black adam.
