Other sources have confirmed that Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn are engaged

Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn have been sparking engagement rumors since January when, according to a source, the couple took a three-day trip to Cornwall, England, where they popped the question. Discussions on the disputed topic died down when we received no confirmation from the couple or a preview of the ring.

You have to take any online gossip with a grain of salt (remember when everyone thought The Weeknd and Angelina Jolie were dating?!), but Swift and Alwyn are notoriously private, so would they tell us? even if we had proof?

According to a new report from The sun, a source confirmed that they are indeed engaged and that only their “entourage” knows. Swift also only wears her “beautiful ring” in private. “Basically immediate family and very old trusted friends,” the insider told the publication. “Everyone is also sworn to secrecy.”

“Again, only a handful of people know the details of the wedding and Taylor hasn’t even told some of her team members about the engagement,” the source added.

“They want their love to stay off the cameras as much as possible. It’s just for them. And if and when they exchange vows, there’s sure to be no Vogue, Rolling Stone or Hello! reviews there. It will be simple and elegant – like them.

This is of course not the first time the couple have been engaged. Talk with WSJ Magazine, the actor responded to the speculation by saying, “If I had a pound every time I think I was told I was engaged, then I’d have a lot of parts in pounds,” a- he declared. “I mean, the truth is if the answer was yes, I wouldn’t say, and if the answer was no, I wouldn’t say.”
